The Yamazaki 12-Year-Old Single Malt consists of carefully chosen malt whiskies, each of which has been cask-aged for no less than 12 years. This unique, limited-edition release commemorates the centenary of Suntory Whisky. As a member of the esteemed Yamazaki family, this epitome of Japanese whisky is produced in the country’s oldest and original malt distillery, established in 1923. “Yamazaki” translates to “mountain cape”, reflecting its distinctive location nestled among a series of forest-clad mountains. The bottle’s design acknowledges Yamazaki as the birthplace of Japanese Whisky, employing rich copper hues to mirror the historic distillery, and serves as a constant homage to our history.

This whiskey was smooth and easy to pour. I picked up Yamazaki 12 Year 100th Anniversary Japanese Whisky for a small get-together and it went over well. The rich and rich notes stood out most to me, with a finish that felt warm. It worked well both neat and mixed, depending on the mood.
