Description

Immortal Estate Impassable Mountain Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2017

Sonoma County Red Wine | 15.9% ABV | 750mL

Process & Profile

Immortal Estate’s Impassable Mountain Reserve 2017 is a bold and luxurious expression of mountain-grown Cabernet Sauvignon from the rugged slopes of the Mayacamas Range in Sonoma County. Sourced exclusively from the Hidden Ridge Vineyard at elevations reaching 1,700 feet, the grapes are hand-harvested and fermented in small lots. The wine is then aged in 85–100% new French oak barrels, amplifying its richness, structure, and aging potential. This limited-release reserve bottling is produced only in exceptional vintages.

The citrus and herbal notes worked well. I picked up Immortal Estate Cabernet Sauvignon Impassable Mountain Reserve 2017 for a small get-together and it went over well. The vanilla and spice notes stood out most to me, with a finish that felt clean. It worked well both neat and mixed, depending on the mood.
