This award-winning bourbon is meticulously finished in 20-year-old PX (Pedro Ximénez) Sherry casks, infusing the whiskey with unique layers of floral notes, fig, roasted walnuts, candied fruit, and spicy rye. The Solera aging system involves a pyramid of barrels, with a portion of whiskey periodically transferred from the lower barrels, while new whiskey is added to the top. This process ensures that no barrel is ever completely emptied, allowing the older and younger whiskies to blend over time, thereby providing an extraordinary depth and complexity that is truly unparalleled.

This bottle had a good, honest flavor. Hillrock Solera Aged Bourbon PX Finish was not harsh, and the fruit plus floral notes made it feel a little more special than a basic pick. I liked that it tasted close to what the product notes described.
